Tracking Your Genesis Service Status From Your Phone

You left the car with us at nine. Somewhere between a meeting and lunch, the question surfaces: where is it in the process. The answer, now, lives in your pocket.

Connected services turn the service visit into something you can glance at between other things. No phone tag. No wondering whether the loaner needs to go back yet. Just a quiet thread of updates, delivered the way the rest of your day is already organized.

The problem we're actually solving

Service visits used to require a kind of mental bookmark. You'd drop the car off, estimate when it might be ready, and build the rest of the day around a phone call that may or may not arrive before you needed to leave the office. For an owner whose calendar is already stacked — a clinic schedule, a court docket, a lease negotiation that runs long — that bookmark is friction.

The Genesis Intelligent Assistant app, paired with Connected Services on your G80, GV70, or G90, removes the bookmark. Status moves to the phone. You check it when you want to. You stop checking when you don't.

What you can see from the app

Once your vehicle is paired and Connected Services is active, the app surfaces the parts of ownership that used to require a call to the service drive. The experience is deliberately uncluttered — one screen, a few taps, the information you came for.

  • Vehicle health report. A rolling diagnostic of major systems — engine, transmission, airbag, ABS — refreshed on a schedule you can review. If something warrants attention, it says so plainly.
  • Maintenance intervals. Mileage-based reminders for oil service, tire rotation, cabin filter, and brake inspection, aligned to the schedule in your owner's manual rather than a generic calendar.
  • Service appointment status. Once your vehicle is checked in with us, the app reflects where it is in the workflow — received, in progress, awaiting parts, ready for pickup.
  • Service history. Every visit, every line item, archived to the VIN. Useful at trade-in. Useful if you ever hand the car to a family member.
  • Direct messaging with the service advisor. Approvals for additional work can be handled by text, with a timestamp, instead of a voicemail that lands between patients.

Pairing Genesis at Home with the app

The experience is most useful when it's layered. Genesis at Home — our valet pickup and delivery service — removes the drive. The app removes the follow-up. Together, the service visit becomes something that happens around your day rather than inside it.

A typical sequence: you schedule the visit from the app the night before. In the morning, a Genesis specialist arrives at your home or office, confirms the work, and leaves you with a Service Loaner if the visit requires one. The car is transported to our shop in Norman. You go about your Tuesday. The app updates when the technician begins the work, when any additional findings need your approval, and when the car is clean and ready. The specialist returns it. You never left the building.

What to set up before your first visit

If you're new to the app, three steps make the rest of it work. Download Genesis Intelligent Assistant. Enroll in Connected Services through your owner account. Pair the vehicle using the VIN and the one-time code generated inside the car's infotainment settings. The whole process takes less than ten minutes and only has to happen once.

If you've purchased from our new inventory recently, a specialist can walk through the setup during delivery. For owners who bought elsewhere and now live in the Norman or OKC area, we're glad to do the same at your first service visit — just mention it when you schedule.

Where the design philosophy shows up

The app is quieter than most. It doesn't push promotions. It doesn't ask you to rate the experience three different ways. It doesn't surface a dozen features you'll never use. The home screen holds the car, a short list of what matters, and a path to the next action. The detail rewards a second look: the way the maintenance reminders phrase themselves as suggestions rather than warnings, the way the vehicle health report defaults to green rather than red, the way an approval request from your advisor reads like a note from a colleague instead of a form.

That restraint is deliberate. The service experience is part of the ownership experience, and the ownership experience is part of the design. The same philosophy that shapes the cabin of a GV80 — the white space, the considered placement of controls — shapes the software you'll use to care for it.

A few practical notes

Push notifications are optional and granular. If you'd rather not hear from the app between visits, turn them off; the information will still be there when you open it. The Vehicle Health Report can be shared as a PDF, which is useful if you ever need to document a condition for warranty or insurance. And remote functions — lock, unlock, climate pre-conditioning, vehicle finder — live in the same app, so the service tab isn't an isolated utility. It's one view inside a larger tool you'll already have reason to open.

For owners curious about the Electrified lineup, the Electrified GV70 adds charging status, scheduled charging, and battery conditioning to the same interface — same restraint, additional information.

If you'd like a walkthrough

Setup is simple, but if you'd prefer to have someone sit with you for ten minutes and make sure every feature is doing what you want it to, we're happy to do that. Bring the car in, or we'll come to you.

We invite you to schedule your next service with Genesis of Norman — online or by phone — and we'll help you pair the app so the rest of the visit happens quietly in the background.
