What to Expect When Your Genesis Is Delivered

The day you take delivery of a new car should feel like an evening you've planned well. Unhurried. Considered. The paperwork settled before you arrive, the vehicle ready, the questions you didn't know you had already anticipated.

Here is what delivery looks like at Genesis of Norman, and why we've built the experience the way we have.

Before the Day Itself

Most of what makes a delivery feel effortless happens before you set foot in the showroom. Once you've chosen your car — whether that's a G80 configured to your specification, a GV80 pulled from current inventory, or an Electrified GV70 that requires a charging conversation — we handle the sequencing quietly in the background.

Financing structure, trade appraisal, title work, insurance binder, temporary tag, the small mountain of signatures — those are resolved through our finance office in advance, over email or a single sit-down, whichever you prefer. By the time your delivery is scheduled, the ceremony of signing has been reduced to a few pages and a pen.

We ask two questions early. When would you like to take delivery, and where. The first has an obvious answer. The second surprises people.

Genesis at Home, or the Showroom

Delivery does not have to happen at the dealership. Through the Genesis at Home program, we can bring your new vehicle to your home or office in Norman, Oklahoma City, Edmond, or the surrounding communities. A member of our team arrives with the car, walks you through it in your driveway, hands over the keys, and takes any trade with them on the return. For clients whose calendars do not accommodate an afternoon at a showroom, this has quietly become the preferred option.

If you'd rather come to us, the showroom delivery has its own composition. The car is detailed, staged, and waiting under interior light when you walk in. We keep the room quiet. There is coffee if you want it, and no one hovering if you don't.

The Walk-Around

Whichever setting you choose, the walk-around is the heart of the delivery. This is where the car stops being an idea and becomes yours. We open every door, lift the hood and the tailgate, sit in every seat. We point out the details that reward a second look — the diamond quilting on the seat bolsters, the knurled metal on the drive-mode selector, the way the ambient lighting is layered rather than washed across the cabin.

We pair your phone. We set your seat memory, your mirror positions, your climate preferences, your preferred navigation home. We walk through the head-up display, the driver assistance suite, and the specific functions you'll actually use in the first week — not a recitation of the owner's manual, but the settings that matter on a Tuesday morning.

The Details We Cover Without Being Asked

There are questions every new owner has in the first month. We prefer to answer them before they arrive.

  • Charging, if your car is electrified. For a GV60 or an Electrified G80 or GV70, we discuss home charging setup, public network access, and what a realistic week of ownership looks like in and around central Oklahoma.
  • Service, when the time comes. Your ownership includes a complimentary scheduled maintenance window and access to our Service Valet — we will collect the car from your home or office when it's due and return it when it's ready, with a Genesis loaner in the interim. Most owners never visit our service drive. That is the point.
  • The first thousand miles. Break-in guidance, tire pressure, the software update cadence, and the small ergonomic adjustments that only reveal themselves after a few long drives.
  • Concierge access. How to reach us directly, without a phone tree, when something comes up.

After You Drive Away

The relationship does not end when the taillights leave the lot. A member of our team will follow up within the first week to answer whatever has come up — a feature you'd like walked through again, an accessory you're now considering, a service question. We keep the touch light. You bought a car, not a subscription to our attention.

Most owners find that the second delivery — the one that happens at their first service visit, when the loaner arrives and the car leaves quietly for its appointment — feels like a continuation of the first. That is by design. The Service Valet program and the complimentary maintenance window were built to make ownership feel the way the car drives: composed, unhurried, considered.

A Note on Time

We do not rush deliveries. A thorough walk-around, unhurried, is usually forty-five minutes to an hour. If you have thirty minutes and a meeting to make, we can compress it and follow up later in the week for the rest. If you have an afternoon, we can take the long version and drive a route you'd like to learn — the highway loop, the road you commute, the drive to Tulsa you've been thinking about.

The evening begins before you arrive. Our job is to have every small thing prepared so that when you turn the key, or press the button, the only thing left to do is drive.

If you'd like to browse current new inventory or ask a specific question about the delivery process, reach us here.

We invite you to a private, unhurried conversation about your next Genesis — whether you'd like delivery at our showroom or at your home in Norman or Oklahoma City, we'll shape the day around your schedule.
