The appointment reminder arrives on a Tuesday. Your calendar for the week is already decided — a deposition Wednesday, clinic Thursday, a dinner in Oklahoma City on Friday. The idea of carving out a morning to sit in a service lounge, however well-appointed, is the first thing that has to go.
It should be. Genesis designed the ownership experience with exactly this week in mind.
The service visit, redesigned around your calendar
Genesis at Home is the quiet center of how we service cars in Norman. A valet arrives at your office, your home, or the garage at the hospital. They hand you the key to a Service Loaner. They drive your car to us. When the work is complete, the exchange happens in reverse, at an address and a time you choose. The dealership visit, as a required event, has been removed from the equation.
What remains is the work itself — performed by Genesis-trained technicians using Genesis parts — and a short set of digital touchpoints that keep you informed without asking for your attention. If you have ever wondered why the ownership experience is discussed in the same breath as the car's design, this is part of the answer. The service model is composed in the same register as the cabin.
How to book without picking up the phone
There are three practical ways to schedule, and none of them require a trip to Norman.
Through the MyGenesis app
If your G80, GV80, or G90 is paired with your MyGenesis account, the app knows your VIN, your mileage, and your service history. Open it, select service, and you can request Genesis at Home pickup in the same flow. The app also lets you track the appointment once the car is in our care — a convenience we wrote about separately in tracking your Genesis service status from your phone.
Through our website
Our service scheduling form lives on the Genesis of Norman site and takes about ninety seconds. You enter your VIN or model year, choose the services you believe you need (or simply note the mileage and let us advise), and select your preferred pickup window. If you are uncertain whether an item is covered under the complimentary scheduled maintenance window, say so in the notes. We will confirm before any work begins.
Through a short message
If an email or a text is more your rhythm, send one. Reach us through the contact page with your name, your VIN or model, and the window you have in mind. A service advisor will reply with confirmation and the valet's arrival time. No phone tag.
What to tell us when you book
The booking is simpler than most owners expect, but a few details make the exchange seamless on the day itself.
- Pickup address and gate or suite details. If the valet needs a badge, a code, or a specific entrance at the medical complex, note it.
- A second set of keys, or the location of the primary. Many owners prefer to hand off at the front desk rather than interrupt a meeting.
- Preferred loaner. If you would like to spend a few days in a Electrified GV70 while your G70 is with us, say so. Availability varies, but the request is often honored.
- Anything you have noticed. A sound at a particular speed, a feature that is behaving differently, a dashboard notification. Specificity shortens diagnosis.
None of this needs to be perfect. If you forget something, the valet or your advisor will ask when they arrive.
What happens while the car is with us
Once your Genesis is in our care, the updates come to you — a confirmation that the car arrived, a note when the multi-point inspection is complete, a message when any additional recommendation needs your approval. If the work is routine and falls inside the complimentary scheduled maintenance window, there is nothing to approve and nothing to pay. The car is simply returned, washed, to the address you chose.
If a recommendation does come back — brake pads approaching their replacement threshold, a cabin air filter due, a tire showing uneven wear — you receive it in writing, with photographs where relevant, and you decide at your own pace. There is no counter conversation to navigate, no pressure applied by proximity.
When the dealership visit is still the right call
Not every service event is best handled remotely. A test drive to diagnose a subtle ride or acoustic concern is often faster with the advisor and technician in the car with you. A software update that benefits from a conversation about new features — adaptive cruise behavior, the active noise control calibration, the latest infotainment refinements — can be a reason to come in once a year.
And some owners simply enjoy the visit. The showroom is quiet. The coffee is good. If you are considering what comes next — a move from the GV70 to the GV80, or a first look at an electrified model — a service appointment is an unhurried way to spend thirty minutes with the current inventory while your car is in the shop.
Either way, the choice belongs to you. The service model is built so that the dealership visit is an option, not a requirement — the detail rewards a second look.
We invite you to schedule your next service through the Genesis of Norman site or the MyGenesis app — tell us the window that works, and we'll bring a loaner to your door.
